My ideas spring from the places that are familiar to me. Although Patagonia and many parts of Wales have inspired several series, it is the West which is the driving force. The subjects vary: the prom in Aberystwyth, Preseli, Llyn-y-Fan, the coast, imagined landscapes, expressive seascapes and figurative work, the silver thread that binds them is the palpable feeling of belonging and an empathy that excites.

The work is an expression of living in the community and landscape of West Wales.
